Health care and health insurance issues have been at the forefront of the race for the White House in 2008. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain have all proposed different plans to fix our health care system. In this series we will discuss the pros and cons of each health plan. Read Why Hillary Clinton’s Health Plan Will Work
Hillary Clinton’s plan states that no American will be denied insurance, renewal or gets priced

out of the market, all while she decreases premiums. Remember that old saying, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is,”?
First of all, her plan states that “individuals will be required to get and keep insurance in a system where insurance is affordable and accessible.” I hope I’m not reading too much into this, but is she actually forcing all Americans to purchase health insurance? Those citizens that are insured because they choose to be, are they going to be forced into buying an insurance plan? Is this even constitutional?
Clinton plans to use income taxes in order to finance her program. Does Clinton plan to use existing taxes to fund her plan? Smart money would say she is going to have to raise taxes in order to implement it. The plan will eliminate the burden of health care for some by increasing the burden of taxes for others. Is this really what we need in a time of bad economic conditions and skyrocketing gas prices? This health care plan is projected to cost $110 billion; this is quite a bit of money for the state of the economy.
Clinton’s plan is also set to be executed by the government. This means the government will have to pass off on all types of medical procedures. This could also cause you to be denied a medical procedure once the plan takes action, even if you were approved for the procedure pre-plan.
Seven months before Clinton laid down her plans for health care, former 2008 presidential candidate John Edwards laid out his plan, which is remarkably similar to Clinton’s plan. The plans are so similar that Edwards wife, Elizabeth Edwards, calls the plan “John Edward’s health care plan as delivered by Hillary Clinton.” When questioned about it a Clinton spokesperson brought up Clinton’s “experience” when it comes to health care. The Clinton campaign playing the “experience” card? Who would have guessed?
